Unconventional and contemporary.

The Rum Cask Rebel is an impressive addition to the Smokehead range and a whisky that certainly lives up to its punchy branding and marketing.

When the Islay rebel meets its rum cask cousin, the familiar peaty punch of Smokehead is given a sweet and furious jolt. A new potion to light up the taste buds. A fresh concoction of unexpected flavours.

With soothing citrus and tropical fruits, distinctive fiery peat smoke and burnt marshmallow intensity, this Caribbean rum cask finish is hard to resist.

A very enjoyable single malt and a ‘must try’ for the peaty whisky fans out there.

Create some seriously decadent concoctions with this new rebel and other Smokeheads which are all available at aeclub.com.my.

Smokehead Hot Toddy

  • 50ml Smokehead
  • 1.5 teaspoons brown sugar
  • 3 dashes pineapple bitters
  • 150ml hot water
  • Garnish with dried pineapple and a lemon twist

  2. Add 4 dashes of bitters and 25ml of lime cordial.
  3. Top up with 150ml hot water and garnish with dried pineapple and lemon twist.

Just Peachy

Whisky and peach go way back, but this refreshingly rebellious take on a classic gives the pairing a modern kick. Deceptively mellow, but not to be taken lightly.

  • 25ml Smokehead Rum Cask Rebel
  • 50ml peach iced tea syrup
  • 25ml lemon juice
  • 25ml peach liquor
  • soda
  • peach sweets garnish
  1. Another cocktail built in the glass (yes, less washing up!).
  2. Grab a wine glass and add all the ingredients and stir well until combined.
  3. Top with soda and ice. Stick a few peach sweets on a cocktail stick.

Richly Deserved Rewards

A sweet digestif with a difference, misfits plum sake and Rum Cask Rebel mingle with a shot of dessert wine for a taste to round off any meal – or get the night started – in style.

  • 25ml Smokehead Rum Cask Rebel
  • 50ml Plum Sake
  • 30ml Sauternes dessert wine
  1. Grab a mixing glass and fill with ice.
  2. Add this trio of misfits.
  3. Stir those liquids until they become one.

Bloody Mary’s Korean Travels

Set sail on an epic journey from the west coast of Scotland to the Far East. A hair-raising, heart-stirring, tang-tastic hit that won’t quit, perhaps to set you after the night before.

  • 25ml Smokehead High Voltage
  • Chopped kimchi
  • Jalapeno hot sauce
  • Smoked paprika
  • Celery salt
  • Tomato juice
  • Pickled chili, cherry tomato and celery garnish
  1. No shaker needed for this one. Leave the juice and ice at the side for now. Add all other ingredients to the glass, stirring to combine until silky smooth.
  2. Now add ice and top with tomato juice.
  3. Garnish with pickled chili, tomato and celery, or anything you can get your hands on.

Smoky Shandy

Smokehead’s hack on a classic combo. A citrussy, briny blast of High Voltage Original cut with a fruity pale ale. Hoppy brew, happy days. One sip and you’ll never hear the word shandy the same way.

  • 25ml Smokehead High Voltage
  • 50/50 fruity IPA and cloudy lemonade
  • Fill your chosen vessel with ice. Now, it’s time for an assault of the senses, pour over a shot of High Voltage.
  • Top with your fruity IPA and cloudy lemonade, we’d suggest going 50/50 with these two.
  • If you’re out to impress, add a twist of lemon peel.
